I can use the correct Order of Operations to evaluate algebraic expressions such as 3(2x+5).
Student Friendly Language
To me this means that I can use the order of operations to simplify and find the answer to the problem that I am doing.
Exemplar Order of Operations
=(5+8)2+24/3 First, you do what is in the parentheses.
=13x2+24/3 Then, you multiply 13 and 2 because in this problem multiplacation
comes before division.
=26+24/3 Now we can divide becuase there is nothing else to do, but add.
=26+8 Last, we add twenty-six to eight.
=34 Your final answer should come out to be thirty-four.
